CLIFTON PARK – A call for a man threatening to kill a woman with a gun led to a defaced firearm and the man’s arrest, Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department officials said.
Nikki J. Atanasio, 45, of Clifton Park, was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and violation harassment.
Deputies were called to the home on Tekakwitha Court just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a man threatening to kill a woman in a case officials described as domestic.
They arrived to find Atanasio on the residence’s roof. They talked him down and took him into custody, officials said.
Investigators got a warrant and searched a vehicle there. An explosives detection K-9 alerted police on the vehicle’s passenger door jam, officials said.
A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded Glock handgun with a defaced serial number and two loaded magazines, officials said.
Atanasio was arraigned and released under supervision. He is due back in court later.
