ALBANY — Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Tuesday he would resign and turn the office over to Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul.
Cuomo has come under increasing pressure to step down amid the firestorm of criticism over his actions with 11 women who have accused him of sexual harassment.
He has defended his actions as not harassment but after an investigation, state Attorney General Letitia James declared it otherwise.
“Your dad made mistakes,” Cuomo said to his daughters in a live broadcast early Tuesday afternoon.
“Thank you for the honor of serving you,” he told New Yorkers, as he concluded.
