Witnesses told police the vehicle had been traveling south on Erie Boulevard at a high rate of speed when it entered the traffic circle and hit the center curb, causing it to roll over multiple times, police spokesman officer Pat Irwin said.
The SUV then hit a lamp post and a Catholic Charities van that was parked and unoccupied in the Legere Restoration parking lot.
Schenectady police and firefighters responded. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were taken to Ellis Hospital for minor injuries, Irwin said.
Police issued multiple citations to the driver as a result of the incident, Irwin said.
