COBLESKILL — Matt Williams has been named SUNY Cobleskill interim women’s soccer head coach, the school announced Wednesday.

Williams replaces Rosie Kays, who resigned to accept the head women’s soccer coaching position at Neumann University.

“I would like to thank our athletic director Marie Curran-Headley for this opportunity,” Williams said in a press release. “SUNY Cobleskill is a special place to me and I am grateful for the opportunity to lead the program forward this season. I intend to help create a strong foundation that we can build on and ensure a successful future for women’s soccer in years to come.”

Williams, a Cobleskill-Richmondville High School graduate, has been with the Fighting Tigers’ men’s soccer team for the last seven years, including three as the associate head coach. He will continue in that role this season.
