Supervisor Yasmine Syed said the town has implemented this measure because it has spaced out chairs again due to rising covid cases, meaning there are only 18 seats available in the town board room.

“Anyone who wishes to attend will be allowed to attend provided that we don’t go over the allotted 18 seats,” she said.

If all 18 seats fill up, Syed said the town will email the registrant.

“If the registrant wishes to speak at privilege of the floor or a public hearing, accommodations will be made to either have their letter read into the record or to seat them in the lobby and still allow them to speak at the appropriate juncture,” Syed said.

Attendees will be required to wear a mask and complete a health screening upon entering town hall. Meetings will be live-streamed and recorded.

People can register by going on the town board website and clicking on the tab for meetings and then clicking on the upcoming town board meeting scheduled for Tuesday.
