Troopers: Two used stolen identity to purchase $1,000 in alcohol from Malta liquor store

MALTA – Two men were arrested this past week, accused of making a $1,000 alcohol order online to a Malta liquor store using a stolen identity, state police said.

Daymin T. Berkley, 26, of Albany, and Kymere P. Thomas, 23, of Watervliet, were each charged with second-degree identity theft and fourth-degree grand larceny, felonies, along with misdemeanor petit larceny, troopers said.

The men are accused of using the stolen identity and related credit card information to purchase more than $1,000 worth of alcohol from a liquor store in Malta through an online order, state police said.

When the men arrived to pick up their order, state police took them into custody, troopers said.

The men were processed and released to appear in court later.
