SCHENECTADY — A trio of Union football seniors — offensive lineman Tim Driscoll, running back Ike Irabor and defensive lineman Daniel Gioiso — were named Monday to the D3football.com Preseason All-America teams.

Irabor and Driscoll both earned first-team honors, while Gioiso was selected to the second team. It’s the first time in program history that Union has had more than two preseason All-America selections in a single season.

Driscoll started all 12 games at left tackle for the Dutchmen in 2019, earning first-team All-Liberty League honors. Irabor ran for 1,231 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2019 en route to being named the Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year and a third-team All-American. Gioiso also earned an All-Liberty League first-team spot in 2019 after racking up nine sacks and 15 tackles for loss from his defensive end spot.

Union, ranked 15th in the D3football.com preseason poll, opens its season Sept. 4 at home against Morrisville State.
