The day 9/11 was memorable for us.
My sister, Marina Capullo, was visiting us from Tucson, Arizona.
We were having breakfast in the kitchen when my daughter, Lori Mannix, called and told us to watch the TV.
We began to hear the news. What a shock! Couldn’t believe what we were seeing. We didn’t think it was here, but it sure was.
That’s all we talked about while we visited with her — just disbelief in all of it.
She went back to Tucson, but every time 9/11 was mentioned we thought back to her visit here. Still couldn’t believe what we saw that day during her visit. We talked about it every year of that terrible, shocking day.
It’s also a reminder of her visit to us (she is now deceased), but her and 9/11 will never be forgotten.
My husband, Richard Sheldon, was a retired Schenectady firefighter. It was all of our talks for days.
How could this happen in the USA? God bless us.
