FONDA-FULTONVILLE RESCHEDULES WEEK 2 FOOTBALL GAME

After needing to forfeit its Week 1 football game against Cobleskill-Richmondville, Fonda-Fultonville’s Week 2 game will be delayed a few days because of protocols related to COVID-19.

Fonda-Fultonville athletic director Eric Wilson said Monday that the school’s football team won’t be able to conduct a full practice until Sunday, then will play Corinth/Hadley-Luzerne the next day at home. The teams were originally scheduled to play this upcoming Friday.

“We’ll get a practice in and then play Monday,” Wilson said.

Some players, Wilson said, are available to work out, but not enough for the team to play a game. State rules mandate that a program needs at least 16 players to start a high school football game.

Fonda-Fultonville started its season with a Week 0 win at Peru. The Braves were one of several teams unable to compete in Week 1 due to pandemic-related protocols.
