
Tom Titsworth and Dan Quinn both ran for two touchdowns, and Niskayuna opened its Section II Class A football schedule with a 28-6 win over Columbia Friday night.
Titsworth and Quinn both scored in the first quarter, Quinn delivered again in the second, and Titsworth reached the end zone again in the fourth to help the Silver Warriors (2-1) win their second consecutive game. Quinn has a combined nine rushing and passing touchdowns.
Niskayuna opened its season with a 28-21 road loss to Auburn before winning at Bethlehem 27-6 last week. Columbia is 1-1.
La Salle Institute defeated Ballston Spa, 23-8, holding the Scotties scoreless until a touchdown on the game’s final play from scrimmage.
In a Class AA game, Shenendehowa beat Guilderland 23-9, getting second-half interception returns from touchdowns from both Brandon Fahr and Connor Margan, in addition to an 86-yard touchdown run by Carter Cukerstein.
Colonie got a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown passes from John Kemp to Thomas Davis to rally for a 13-12 victory over Saratoga Springs.
In Class B play, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk got three touchdown runs from Aiden Lochner in a 28-6 win over Gloversville.
Carter Kline and Jack Armstrong ran for touchdowns covering three and 19 yards, and Scotia-Glenville evened its Class B mark at 1-1 with a home win Lansingburgh Kevin Green returned an interception 45 yards for the Tartans’ third touchdown. Jevon Beckett hauled in a 52-yard scoring pass for 0-2 Lansingburgh.
Dylan Winchell had a touchdown run, touchdown reception and interception return for a score in Warrensburg/North Warren/Bolton’s 54-8 Class D win over Canajoharie/Fort Plain.
Schuylerville picked up a 42-12 non-classification win over Chatham as Lukas Sherman ran for four touchdowns and Owen Sherman tossed a pair of touchdown passes.
KROHN HITS MILESTONE
Schoharie’s Katie Krohn scored four goals, including the 200th of her career, in a 9-0 win over Northville in a Western Athletic Conference girls’ soccer game.
Carly Atty scored both of Fonda-Fultonville’s goals, including the game-winner on a penalty kick with eight minutes left in regulation, in a 2-1 win over Duanesburg. Jessica Archambeault scored for Duanesburg.
In Colonial Council play, Gianna Viscusi scored a hat trick as Schalmont beat Voorheesville 3-0.
In the Foothills Council, Broadalbin-Perth and Scotia-Glenville played to a 2-2 draw. Brooke Bush and Mianna Barboza scored for Broadalbin-Perth, while Lucy Crouse and Rylee O’Connor scored for Scotia-Glenville.
MECHANCVILLE VOLLEYBALL WINS
Makayla Blake had 12 kills, and Jenna Tesoriero assisted on 14 points to lead Mechanicville over Cambridge 25-12, 25-18, 22-25, 25-12 in a Wasaren League girls’ volleyball match.
Saratoga Catholic swept Berlin/New Lebanon 25-5, 25-21, 25-23, with Jacqueline Fornabia collecting eight kills and six aces, and Allison Motler contributing seven aces and 11 assists for the Saints.
Emma Scheitinger had 10 kills, and Ichabod Crane went to 5-0 in the Colonial Council with a 25-22, 25-21, 25-18 victory over Holy Names.
VOORHEESVILLE TOPS SCHALMONT
Voorheesville beat Schalmont 4-1 in a Colonial Council boys’ soccer match behind two goals and an assist from Ryan McMillen. Andrew Kusek scored for Schalmont.
In Wasaren League play, Waterford-Halfmoon beat Hoosick Falls 3-0, with Schyler Tostes scoring a goal in each half. Werkie Hayes recorded the shutout in goal.
Mechanicville rolled to an 8-0 win over Tamarac, with Andrew Kraszewski having a hand in seven of the eight goals by scoring five and assisting on two others.
In the Western Athletic Conference, Austin Johns and Kaurice Bell scored for Middleburgh in a 2-1 win over Fort Plain. Richie Paddon scored for Fort Plain.

Molly Miller scored both of her goals in the first quarter to set the tone, and Shenendehowa eased past Columbia 8-0 in a Suburban Council field hockey game. Lauren Shanahan had a goal and two assists for Shenendehowa, and Kendall Eggleston and Nicolette Morlock both had a goal and an assist.
Taylor Stein’s fourth-quarter goal gave Emma Willard a 2-1 Wasaren League win over Salem.
