GLENVILLE – An 86-year-old woman died in a house fire at 9 Park Lane in East Glenville Sunday, a town official said Monday.

However, the victim’s identity was withheld a second day because she didn’t have a known next of kin, Town Supervisor Christopher Koetzle said.

Beverly A. Bondley is the listed owner of the single-family ranch, according to county records.

State fire services and Glenville police are investigating the fatality.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, East Glenville Fire Chief Clem Schimikowski said at the scene Sunday.

Firefighters began receiving 911 calls about the blaze at about 10:50 a.m. There was heavy smoke coming from all sides of the house. Crews extinguished the fire within about 40 minutes. No firefighters were injured.
