ALBANY — Former UAlbany men’s lacrosse midfielder Kyle McClancy is returning to the Capital Region.

McClancy, a 2018 UAlbany graduate, has signed with the Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League, the team announced Thursday.

During his four years at UAlbany, McClancy recorded 128 points (79 goals, 49 assists) in 69 total games, was a two-time USILA and Inside Lacrosse Division I All-American and was a key member of the Great Danes’ first-ever run to the NCAA national semifinals in 2018.

McClancy was drafted by the Atlanta Blaze of Major League Lacrosse following his UAlbany career, and played in the Premier Lacrosse League in 2019 and 2020.

The FireWolves will open their inaugural season on Dec. 4, and the franchise is set to play its first home game at Times Union Center on Dec. 18.
