Week 5 high school football action starts Friday.
Before that, The Daily Gazette is rolling out its latest look at the top teams in each Section II classification.
Rankings were voted on by a panel made up of Daily Gazette sports editor Michael Kelly, staff writers Stan Hudy, Adam Shinder and Paul Wager, and contributors Jim Schiltz and Will Springstead.

No. 3 Amsterdam (3-0) pulled off one of the biggest wins of the season with a one-point victory last weekend against Averill Park. No. 4 La Salle Institute (2-2) hosts Queensbury this week, while No. 5 Averill Park (3-2) hosts Niskayuna in the best Class A game of the week.

CLASS D
Narrowly, No. 1 Greenwich (4-0) stayed ahead of No. 2 Warrensburg/North Warren/Bolton (5-0) this week, and the teams will — in all likelihood — determine next week’s top team in this classification with how their matchup plays out Friday in Greenwich. The lone blemish on the resume of No. 3 Stillwater (2-1) is its eight-point loss against Greenwich, which has secured its other three wins by 54, 49 and 56 points. No. 4 Lake George (2-0) travels this week to play No. 5 Cambridge/Salem (2-3), which is coming off back-to-back losses against Greenwich and Warrensburg/North Warren/Bolton by a combined score of 97-7.
This week: Greenwich, Warrensburg/North Warren/Bolton, Stillwater, Lake George, Cambridge/Salem.
Last week: Greenwich, Warrensburg/North Warren/Bolton, Stillwater, Cambridge/Salem, Lake George, Chatham (ARV).
