Saratoga field hockey beats South Glens Falls in overtime

Aubrey Ide scored in overtime, and Grace Holtby made 10 saves as Saratoga Springs got past South Glens Falls 2-1 in a non-league field hockey game Monday.

Ide assisted on Allie Shamberger’s first-period goal, and Lillian Willis pulled the Bulldogs even in the third quarter.

Alessia Simone’s overtime goal give Queensbury a 1-0 victory over Johnstown in a Foothills Council matchup.

Kaurice Bell and Austin Johns scored two goals apiece to send Middleburgh past Galway 4-1 in a Western Athletic Conference boys’ soccer game.

In Suburban Council action, Owen Everett, Ben Baker and Erik Najtellari scored for CBA in a 3-2 win over Niskayuna.

Eli Charlebois scored on a first-half penalty kick, and the goal stood up as Maple Hill beat Schalmont 1-0 in the championship game of the Wildcats’ tournament.

William Hernigle assisted on a second-half goal by Allen Booth and later scored himself to break a tie and lift Fonda-Fultonville to a 2-1 non-league win over Johnstown.

Andrew Kraszewski backed Dylan Raucci’s 10-save effort with two goals and two assists, and Mechanicville boosted its mark to 13-0-1 with a 5-0 win over South Glens Falls.

Abby Chest, Chelsea Johnson and Jaidyn Chest supplied the goals as Johnstown topped Glens Falls 3-0 in a girls’ Foothills Council soccer game.

Claire D’Angelico scored two goals and Quincy Hytko had two assists as part of Cohoes’ 4-1 Colonial Council win over Lansingburgh.

Emma Farrell notched three goals in Voorheesville’s 6-1 win over Albany Academy.

Amsterdam and Fonda-Fultonville played to a 2-2 double-overtime tie, with Jill Allen and Maddy Cebula scoring for the Rams, and Carly Atty and Ella Slezak scoring for the Braves.

Alayna Fletcher scored two goals as Maple Hill beat Cambridge 3-1 in the Maple Hill Tournament title game.

Due to a lack of players, South Glens Falls forfeited its scheduled Monday night Class A football game at Troy. The Flying Horses will play at Amsterdam Friday.
