Police: Man injured in Tuesday evening Schenectady shooting; Shots fired from one car to another

SCHENECTADY – One man suffered a gunshot wound to his foot after someone fired shots from one car to another Tuesday evening in Mont Pleasant, police said.

The injured man, 20, arrived at Ellis Hospital by private vehicle for treatment, police said.

The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. in the area of Francis Avenue and Forest Road, police said.

An officer on routine patrol in the area of Crane Street and Francis heard multiple gunshots from the scene. At the scene, officers found seven shell casings, but no one hurt there.

Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle pull up to another parked vehicle and begin shooting, police said.

Shortly afterward, the 20-year-old injured man arrived at Ellis, police said.

Witnesses also reported that the man was in the vehicle that was shot at. The victim was uncooperative, police said.

The investigation remained ongoing Wednesday. No arrests had been made.
