Update: Niskayuna man missing in Alabama found safe, Alabama newspaper says


NISKAYUNA – A Niskayuna man attending school in Alabama was reported missing this week, but was found safe Thursday, an Alabama newspaper reported.

John Charles “Jack” Lombardo, 21, was was reported missing by his roommate at the University of Alabama Wednesday afternoon, according to Alabama media reports, citing Tuscaloosa police. Lombardo is a senior at the school.

But Lombardo was found Thursday in Starkville, Miss., near the Mississippi State campus, where he told officers he was visiting a friend, The Birmingham News reported.

His mother Karen Candida-Lombardo had asked for help in finding him. She later confirmed on Facebook that he had been located.

“JACK HAS BEEN FOUND!” she wrote. “He is safe and getting medical attention right now. I respectfully ask for privacy and distance as my family works through this. I can’t thank everyone enough for all you have done: posts, calls, flyers everything!”
