Kevin J. Dahl, 26, of Clifton Park, was arrested Saturday on the original probation violation warrant, as well as a new count of second-degree assault, a felony, and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
The incident began at about 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the Public Safety Building as Dahl arrived there to retrieve property, officials said.
However, deputies soon determined Dahl had an active violation of probation warrant out for his arrest, officials said. When the deputy began to take Dahl into custody, he fled from the scene.
In the process, Dahl is accused of injuring the deputy, officials said.
A search for Dahl continued early Thursday afternoon and the search led the Ballston Spa Central School District to be placed on lockout by the school resources officer as a precaution, officials said.
There was no direct threat to the district by the suspect, officials said.
Officials at the time asked for the public’s help in locating Dahl. Officials Sunday indicated they appreciated the assistance of members of the public who called in with tips and information.
Dahl was arraigned and ordered held without bail pending further action, officials said.
