Saratoga Sheriff: Middle Grove man hit woman with gun, burglarized home; Found hiding in residence closet

PORTER CORNERS – A Middle Grove man broke into a home and hit a woman with a gun Thursday, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies then found him hiding in a closet in the home, officials said.

Joshua W. Pozefsky, 28, of Middle Grove, was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree assault, felonies.

He is accused of breaking into the Porter Corners residence and also hitting the woman on the side of her head with a gun. Officials described the incident as a domestic.

Pozefsky was also accused of throwing the woman’s cell phone out of the window of a moving taxi cab and was then located by deputies hiding in a closet where the burglary happened, officials said.

Officials did not describe the sequence of events further.

Deputies recovered the firearm with the help of a sheriff’s K-9, who alerted to it in an area of the home, officials said.

Pozefsky was arraigned and ordered held on bail.
