A 43-year-old Schenectady man was taken to Albany Medical Center late Friday night after he was shot in the leg at the Yates Village apartments on Van Vranken Avenue.

Another man was taken to Ellis Hospital with a broken arm, according to Schenectady Police Department public information officer Pat Irwin.

Around 11:30 p.m., Irwin said police heard around six to seven gunshots in the area of Yates Village, while, at the same time, officers heard the shots fired calls coming into the department reporting the same thing.

Officers responded to the area to find two Schenectady men with injuries. Neither were identified by police.

Irwin said both men are being uncooperative, and the incident is still under investigation, he said.
