A 47-year-old Schenectady man has been charged with grand larceny following an arrest by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department Thursday.

Anthony Canzone Jr. of Marshall Street is charged with the felonies of third-degree grand larceny, third-degree insurance fraud and first-degree falsifying business records, according to a release.

Canzone allegedly received over $38,700 in wage replacement payments from the Saratoga County self-insurance fund, according to a release from the sheriff’s department. Police said he misrepresented material facts in documents that he completed to gain the benefits, which also resulted in him being charged with falsifying police records.

Canzone was arraigned in Milton Town Court and released. No future court date was provided.
