CLIFTON PARK – A Schenectady woman stole more than $3,000 in merchandise Friday from the Boscov’s in Clifton Park, state police said Monday.

Tasha M. Savage, 39, of Schenectady, was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny and other charges, troopers said.

State police responded to the Boscov’s just before 2:30 p.m. Friday for a shoplifting report, state police said. Savage is accused of taking more than $3,000 in merchandise from the store without paying for it, troopers said.

Responding patrols took Savage into custody and took her for processing. She was then found in possession of a small amount of cocaine and a glassine baggie of heroin, state police said. She was then seen by troopers attempting to rip up two more baggies that she had concealed, state police said.

Related to the drugs allegedly found, Savage was charged with tampering with physical evidence, a felony, along with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors, state police said.

Savage was arraigned and sent to the Saratoga County Jail. She is due back in court later.
