Niskayuna students, family members and community members must now purchase tickets to attend boys’ junior varsity and varsity boys basketball, as well as and wrestling events.
The Niskayuna Central School District had now implemented the measure in order to control the capacity at the sporting events due to COVID, according to a press release from the district on its website.
The district will be using GoFan for the tickets. People can go to the website at https://gofan.co. However, the district is strongly encouraging people to download the app.
The move eliminates the need for cash transactions, the district said in its release.
Once you are signed up for the site you simply locate Niskayuna High School and then the event you want to attend.
Upon arriving to the event, you will redeem your ticket to an admission staff member. Only digital tickets are accepted, according to the district.
People can learn how to present their ticket at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzAYgP6tFEM.
Junior varsity and varsity boys basketball game tickets cost $4. Everyone must have a digital ticket, including kids and senior citizens. Tickets are not needed for girl’s basketball games at home or freshman basketball games. There will be 600 tickets available for the junior varsity and varsity basketball games.
Families of players will receive a link to purchase tickets first ahead of games — the Friday before a Tuesday game and the Monday before a Friday game. That link will only be available to just families for 24 hours before being opened to the public.
There will be 175 tickets available for wrestling matches, according to the district.
