CAPITAL DISTRICT — The New York State Department of Transportation has issued a travel advisory of rolling lane closures on the northbound Adirondack Northway (Interstate 87) between Exit 8 and Exit 9 in Saratoga County, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 11, for maintenance work, weather permitting.
Motorists are also advised to watch for a single-lane closure on the southbound Northway Twin Bridges over the Mohawk River from 7 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Dec. 12, as part of the bridge’s regular biennial inspection, weather permitting.
Motorists should also expect one lane to be closed on the southbound bridge from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 15, and Thursday, Dec. 16, as part of this regular inspection, weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to move over a lane, if safely possible, or slow down significantly whenever encountering roadside vehicles displaying red, white, blue, amber or green lights, including maintenance and construction vehicles in work zones.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
