U.S. Rep Antonio Delgado, D-Rhinebeck, visited Canajoharie Friday, specifically the museum and library he has nominated for the highest national honor those establishments can receive for their service to their communities.
The Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library hold the area’s history but also have plans to give to its future. Our reporter Andrew Waite and photographer Erica Miller were there Friday to go through the generations of Canajoharians along with Delgado and the museum and library staff. They also heard about the library’s goal to connect with current generations. They plan to go fine-free as a way to further their strides toward creating an ever-welcoming environment, and have opportunities for locals to learn more about the devices they own (e.g. smartphones), access necessary electronics in the always-expanding digital age, plus so much more.
