The Niskayuna Town Board will hold two public hearings in January to hear what residents have to say regarding the implementation of measures to help ease traffic concerns on two roads.

Local Law H would place a 2-ton weight limit on vehicles using Story Avenue between Balltown and Van Antwerp roads.

The measure would prevent commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers from going up Story Avenue, which has a steep incline, and from attempting to turn on to Balltown Road, one of the busiest streets in town, said Police Chief Jordan Kochan.

Local Law I would place a stop sign in the direction traveling south on Williams Street at the intersection of Middle and East streets,

Board member Bill McPartlon said the street is an uncontrolled intersection that has been raising concerns for neighbors.

The hearings are set for Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.
