The man had just walked out of Gaffney’s on Caroline Street and told officers he had been stabbed while inside the bar, police said.

The Saratoga Springs Fire Department responded, provided first aid and the man was taken on to the hospital, police said.

At the bar, staff indicated they were not aware of the incident even having taken place. There reported no observed or reported altercations from inside, according to police. Staff was cooperative and assisted police as much as they could, police said.

The investigation remained ongoing Wednesday, but police indicated the attack did not appear to be random.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 518-584-1800 or 518-584-TIPS to remain anonymous.
