SARATOGA SPRINGS – City Hall had to be evacuated for a short time Thursday morning, after a fire alarm malfunctioned and activated a sprinkler system, according to Kerry Huyben, executive assistant to Mayor Ron Kim.

“Employees did have to leave the building for a brief period of time,” Huyben said at about 11 a.m.. “There was some flooding to certain areas of the building (the first floor and portions of the basement). But most employees are back in and working and City Hall is open for business.”

The reason for the sprinkler system’s activation was under investigation, she said.
