Union athletics allowing all fans back to indoor sporting events

Union athletics is welcoming fans back to its winter sporting events.

The school announced Wednesday that fans will be allowed back inside to watch the Dutchmen sports teams. Two weeks ago, Union limited attendance to students, faculty and staff in response to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Fans must provide proof of vaccination (at least two doses of Moderna or Pfizer or the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine) for all spectators ages 12 and up.

Fans must must present photo identification and documentation of vaccination. Accepted forms of proof include the New York State Excelsior Pass, a CDC vaccination card (either the physical card or a photo) or COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination QR code (Canada only). Union College students and employees can show their Union ID card.

Children ages 5-11 must show proof of having had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination in order to gain entry into an indoor facility. Children ages 2-5 who remain ineligible for vaccination will be allowed entry.

Fans must wear masks at all indoor facilities. Cloth masks are not permitted unless also are wearing a surgical-style mask underneath it. Surgical or medical masks such as N95, KN95 or KF94s may be worn alone.

The Union men’s hockey team is home Friday against Brown and Saturday against Yale. The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams host Vassar on Saturday.
