High schools: Satterday scores 22 in Shaker girls’ basketball win against Albany

Shaker’s Emily Satterday scored a game-high 22 points as the Bison defeated Albany 56-45 in Suburban Council girls’ basketball action. Jamie Martino added 10 points for Shaker. Shonyae Edmonds led Albany with 14 points followed by Me’Challe Cancer with 13.

Broadalbin-Perth limited Gloversville to just three scoring quarters on its way to a 55-17 Foothills Council girls’ basketball win. The Patriots were led by Emma Goebel with 11 points with Mairead Marsden dropping in 10 and Jillian Sassanella adding nine more. Zoie Tesi led the Dragons with a team-high nine points.

Jayden Wilson scored her 1,000th career point in a 29-point effort at home in Johnstown as the Lady Bills defeated Hudson Falls, 70-58 in Foothills Council action. 

Jaidyn Chest added 32 points as the Johnstown duo outscored the entire Hudson Falls roster. 

Kayleigh Osterhoudt led Hudson Falls with 11 points and Madalyn Ruthosky added 10 in the loss.

NISKAYUNA BOWLERS MESERVEY, SMITH ROLL PAST BALLSTON SPA

Niskayuna’s Brian Meservey rolled a match-high 253-683 series followed by teammate Kyle Smith’s 269-670 series as the Silver Warriors rolled past Ballston Spa 23-9 in Suburban Council action. Julian Hansen added to the Niskayuna totals with a 238-623. Ballston Spa’s Nate McVeyt provided a 222-600 series. The Silver Warriors claimed total pinfall 3,579-3,319.

Saratoga Springs bowler Cam Lehnert rolled a 243-671 with Brady Jennings adding a 238-663 as the Blue Streaks defeated Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 27-5. Derek Bellamy led the Spartans with his 227-639 afternoon. Saratoga Springs captured total pinfall 3,641-3,185.

Shenendehowa’s Braeden Mochrie rolled a 237-630 series to pace the Plainsmen in a 24-8 win over Bethlehem. Cody Martin led the Eagles with a 223-581 series. Shenendehowa won total pinfall 3,083-2,752.

Shaker’s Dan Rays rolled a 598 series as the Bison defeated Schenectady 27.5-4.5. Shaker captured total pinfall 3,015-2,184.

Guilderland rolled past Columbia 24-8. Tim Bush rolled a 268-775 to lead the Dutchmen with Aidan Goodwin rolling a 267-660. Guilderland captured total pinfall 3,990-3,539.

Averill Park edged Colonie 16.5-15.5 as Hunter Willett rolled a 249-657 for the Warriors. Tim Knowles led Colonie with his 243-651. Colonie won total pinfall 3,547-3,479.

Olivia DeCitise rolled a 278-245 714 series to lead Troy past CBA with Colin Shepard adding his 234-644. CBA was led by Angelo Galosavo’s 279-654. Troy captured total pinfall 3,568-3,286.

Anthony Giso rolled a 245-684 series to lead Mohonasen past Schalmont 21-11 in Colonial Council bowling action. Matt Rogers added a 254-619 and Ryan Monty had a 224-612 afternoon. David Squires rolled a 262-724 to lead Schalmont with Patrick Delaney adding a 279-659. Mohonasen won total pinfall 3,503-3,449.

Kai Brennan rolled a 255-233-225 713 series to lead Amsterdam as the Rams tied Johnstown in Foothills Council bowling action. Mick Winton rolled a 265-228-239 732 series for the Sir Bills.

Amsterdam’s Matt Sawitzki added a 236-609 series with Johnstown’s Darryn Fallis rolling a 244-675 series. The Rams won total pinfall 3,526-3,485.

Scotia-Glenville’s Savannah Swiatocha rolled a match-high 245-668 series in the Tartans’ 4-0 loss to Hudson Falls. Josh Allen added a 226 game for Scotia-Glenville. Hudson Falls was paced by Derek Call’s 617 series,  Kody Edwards’ 228-612  and Joe Baldwin’s 239 game. Hudson Falls captured total pinfall 3,272-2,986.

Ian Zuppardi rolled a 222-540 series to lead Fort Plain past OESJ 3-1 in Western Athletic Conference Action. Matt Steelle led OESJ with a 180 team-high game. Fort Plain captured total pinfall 2,092-1,972.

The Fort Plain girls’ bowling team swept OESJ 4-0 in Western Athletic Conference action. Emma Oldick rolled a match-high 486 followed by Shantel Krester’s 471. Fort Plain won total pinfall 2,092-1,612.

GANNON, FUSCO WIN TWO EVENTS EACH IN MOHONASEN/SCHALMONT SWIM WIN

Mohonasen/Schalmont’s Lucas Gannon and Benedetto Fusco won two individual events in an 82-78 win over Queensbury in non-league swimming action. Gannon captured the 200-freestyle and 500-freestyle events with Fusco claiming the 200-individual medley and 100-butterfly.

Four different Guilderland/Voorheesville swimmers won individual events in a 97-55 win over CBA/Troy. Jayden Lombardi claimed the 50-freestyle, An Nguyen won the 100-butterfly, Bao Nguyen won the 100-freestyle and Thomas Zeliph won the 100-backstroke.

MOHONASEN PINS FOUR R-C-S OPPONENTS IN COLONIAL COUNCIL WRESTLING WIN

Mohonasen wrestlers Andrew Eimers (152), Mario Serafini (285), Vincent Graulau (102) and Nico Rivera (126) each scored pins against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk in a 42-18 Colonial Council win.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake wrestlers Tyler Rossini (145), Ryan Buthfer ((172), Danny Casey (189), Josiah Strock (285), Liam Carlin (126), Gabriel Goss (132) and Colin Carlin (138) all earned pins in a 59-18 Suburban Council win. Averill Park’s Nick Tempel (160) and Edward Marcus (215) won by pinfall for the Warriors.

Ashten Haley (110), John Oldorff (126), Luke Yorke (138), Zach Yorke (189) and Luke Pryor (215) all earned pins versus Schalmont as the Bulldogs defeated the Sabres 46-17 in Colonial Council wrestling action. Dylan Devine (132), Zaire Scott (145) and Michael Cavanaugh (172) earned decisions for Schalmont.
