Siena women’s basketball routs Rider for fourth straight victory

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The Siena women’s basketball team keeps on winning.

Anja Knoflach scored 19 points, and Anajah Brown had a double-double as the Saints routed Rider 82-44 in a MAAC game at Alumni Gymnasium.

The 38-point margin of victory was the most for the Saints (4-2 MAAC, 4-10 overall) since a Jan. 14, 2011 game when they defeated Niagara 77-37. The last Siena won by more than 30 points was Feb. 25, 2018, when it beat Canisius 70-36.

The Saints had a 38-24 halftime lead, then put the game away in the third quarter when they outscored the Broncs (3-5, 5-12) 26-7 to take a 64-31 lead. Siena shot 11 for 18 (61.1% from the field in the quarter.

Brown had 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Siena, which had 53 rebounds in the game. The last time Siena had at least 50 rebounds in a game was March 10, 2020 against Canisius.

Deanna Winston added 11 points for the Saints, who will go for their fifth straight victory Saturday when they host MAAC-leading Fairfield (6-0, 10-5) at 2 p.m. at UHY Center.
