Schenectady firefighters tend to the victim Wednesday evening

SCHENECTADY – A man was shot and killed Wednesday night in Schenectady, police said.

Officers responded to the area for a report of shots fired and arrived to find the a car had struck a house, with the victim inside the car, police said.

The shots fired call came in at about 8:30 p.m. for the area of Third Avenue and Davis Terrace, police spokesman Sgt. Pat Irwin said.

Officers arrived and found the vehicle had hit the house. Inside the car, they found the victim with gunshot wounds, Irwin said.

The victim was treated at the scene, but was later pronounced dead, Irwin said.

Further information was not immediately available later Wednesday evening.
