Saratoga Sheriff: Moreau man arrested in fatal South Glens Falls hit-and-run

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – A Moreau man has been arrested in connection with Sunday’s fatal hit-and-run crash in South Glens Falls, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.

John F. Lincoln-Lynch, 55, of Moreau, was arrested Tuesday and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, a felony.

Lincoln-Lynch is accused of striking and killing Paul Trombley, 67, of South Glens Falls, at the intersection of Main and Fifth streets in the village at about 7:30 p.m. and then leaving the scene, officials said.

Sheriff’s officials Monday appealed to the public to help identify the driver, describing the vehicle as a dark compact SUV that headed north after the accident and likely had front-end damage.

Lincoln-Lynch was arraigned and ordered held on $100,000 bail. He is to return to court later.

“I would like to thank the members of the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit, Accident Reconstruction Unit and Intelligence Unit for their hard work and dedication in bringing this case to a close,” Sheriff Michael Zurlo said in a statement. “Additionally, I would like to thank the members of the public and businesses in the area for their cooperation, and for providing valuable video evidence that was of great value to the investigation.”
