LOUDONVILLE – In a familiar scene, Kerry Gerety assisted on the first goal of the game at Hickey Field on Saturday.
What was different this time was that she did so for a Siena women’s lacrosse opponent, instead of for the Saints.
The Guilderland High grad, who holds Siena’s all-time record for career assists, plays for Vermont now, and helped the Catamounts defeat Siena 13-10 in a non-conference game to drop the Saints to 2-2 overall.
Besides the one she assisted, Gerety scored two goals, the second of which gave Vermont a 10-6 lead in the third quarter.
Siena got within 11-9 heading into the fourth and cut it to 11-10 with 9:02 left in the game on a goal by Kelly Logue, but the Saints were scoreless the rest of the way.
Amanda Nieman scored three goals for Siena, and Logue had two.
