Jan. 6 impact has been far overblown
I’m not sure if I should be flattered or upset.
Six letters, so far, excoriating me for my Jan. 20 letter (“Don’t compare 1/6 to 9/11, Pearl Harbor”) daring to imply that the Jan. 6 incursion was not as serious as Pearl Harbor or Sept 11.
As far as I’ve seen, no armed conflict (international or domestic) has resulted from this.
Eight hundred of the protesters invaded (with hockey sticks and bear spray), meaning 98% went home, hardly an indictment of all Republicans. No one has been, nor will be, legally indicted for insurrection.
Compared to the destruction and burning of buildings and businesses — dead bodies from BLM protests that lasted months and in multiple major cities — this was a walk in the park. If, and when, I see a call for the BLM to be held responsible for its damage and death, maybe then we can consider fair punishment for the Jan. 6 protesters.

Trump profits from support of Russia
Some on the right are claiming that Trump would have been tough on Putin and the invasion of Ukraine wouldn’t have happened under a second Trump administration. The evidence contradicts that position.
In his 1987 book, “The Art of the Deal,” Trump detailed his plans to build ”a large luxury hotel across the street from the Kremlin in partnership with the Soviet government.”
According to Diana Denman, a delegate to the 2016 RNC convention, a Trump aide, J.D. Gordon, pressured her to support reducing U.S. assistance to Ukraine. The reduced assistance became part of the Republican platform.
In 2019, Trump asked President Zelenskyy to launch a phony investigation into Joe Biden. He threatened to withhold military aid if Zelenskyy wouldn’t cooperate. This charge of extortion was the basis for his first impeachment.
Compelling evidence was given by Col. Vindman who listened in on the conversation. Vindman was fired from his position as Director for European Affairs for the U.S. National Security Council.
Trump had more than 12 private conversations and meetings with Putin while in office. One was at the 2017 G7 summit in Hamburg, lasting two hours.
Trump kept the interpreter’s notes and ordered him not to discuss them with anyone.
Most recently, Trump praised Putin as a “genius” and “savvy” for preparing and launching his invasion of Ukraine.
Trump, who threatened to leave NATO, would have done nothing to stop Putin. He had a hotel to build and worked better with “strongmen” than democratically elected heads of state.

I haven’t posted here since December as I had grown tired of the back-and-forth melodrama. Then yesterday, I saw Gold Star Mom, Shana Chappell’s post. I felt compelled to repost her statement. I was reminded how Joe Biden(in his SOTU) and our disgraceful, dishonest media have ignored the families of the 13 men and women, who were slain in the bungled exit from Afghanistan. They deserve to be heard.
Many readers here will be seeing Shana Chappell’s words for the first time. Defenders of President Biden need to hear from these families for which he has caused so much pain. The activist media has kept their voices in the dark for too long.
William
How dare you be your own person and do critical thinking and analysis on your own. If your opinion differs from Randi Weingarten expect the full wrath of the bloggers.
“Wrath” is a strange word to use for looking at an issue from a different point of view. An attempt to prejudge those who disagree as “wrathful” is a weak attempt to deflate their arguments before they present them.
Anhtony J Santo: “but to use the deaths as a tool to angrily attack a president with self-righteous indignation is beneath contempt.”
Funny how your own words presented prove Joe’s point.
One of those Presidents will live out his years in the US and NYS court systems, and it won’t be Joe Biden.
Anthony is spot on, how disgusting that you would hide behind the real trauma of a grieving parent to try to score political points..
Thanks ChuckD, I really needed the support today.
Mr. Vendetti, it seems the only person unafraid to answer your questions yesterday was Mr. Marincic, when I read the questions I figured (rightly so) that he would be the only one. I was going to but didn’t see it until right now.
And I’ll ask you as I did him: Does ever occur to you it might be wrong to brag and boast about your “accomplishments”? Does that appear in the the teachings of Christ somewhere, to go forth and tell the world how great you think you are?
Because it sure doesn’t in my Christian background. In fact humility is what’s called for, something you, and Marincic and Joseph seem to be very short of.
Chuck – there is a great approach in the corporate world. I don’t need to make someone look bad to make myself look good.
Every time someone is critical of President Biden you & Lou and others bring up President Trump. I don’t need to look back I need to look forward.
“Every time…”
No, you are mistaken and painting with an undeserving broad brush…again.
There’s been plenty of criticism of Biden and the Democrats here and elsewhere. Democrats are not playing, “yeah, but…” But the crimes of the Republicans aren’t only Liberal imagination, they’re documented in the courts. Maybe because of that fact it seems like Democrats are trying to deflect, but the reality is well documented.
But what do those crimes have to do with the price of tea in china? I believe the last crimes committed was 1/6/21 (over one year ago). Those crimes are being prosecuted. The involvement of President Trump and his cronies is being investigated. Again what do these crimes have to do with President Biden?
I’m responding to this:
“Every time someone is critical of President Biden you & Lou and others bring up President Trump”
Seriously? Dont your words mean anything to you?
This post originally appeared on Townhall.com.
A parent of a Marine who was killed during the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan blasted President Joe Biden on social media after he did not mention the 13 service members who were killed by a suicide bomber during his State of the Union.
Shana Chappell, the mother of Marine Lance Corporal Kareem Nikoui, said in a lengthy statement, Biden did not mention the 13 troops because he knows their blood is on his hands and “You don’t even care!”:
“[Joe Biden] did you already forget that you put 13 kids in flagged draped coffins you POS??? You are disrespectful, SAY OUR KIDS NAMES!!!!! Do you remember this day in Dover??? I do!!! I had to watch my son be taken off a plane while my heart felt like it was being ripped from my chest and you stood there checking your watch over and over again like being there was taking up to much of your precious time! I will never get to hug my son again, i will never hear his beautiful laugh, he won’t get to have a family of his own, he is forever 20 and it’s your fault Biden and your military advisors faults!!! You don’t even care! All you care about is continuing to destroy our country from within! You are a weak, spineless, traitor, coward POS!!! America hates you!!! I hate you!
“You are why my son is dead! You are why all 13 are dead! Their blood is on your hands and you know it, that’s why you refuse to say their names!! You are a lying, liar who lies and you are no friend of #jesus !! There’s a special place in Hell for you Biden! You and your corrupt administration are going down one way or another! I’ve had enough of you and your BS! You are nobody Biden, you are not the president!! Cheating isn’t winning and lying never becomes the truth!
“…
“Biden When you got my son killed you also killed a piece of me. You and your administration full of clowns are an embarrassment and disgrace to our country! I would say let’s have a face to face meeting but u and i already did that and you showed me in person you could care less what happened to my son! I can’t speak for what the other parents thought of u but i thought u were weak and a poor excuse for a man! #neverforget #saytheirnames #13 #fjb #cheating isn’t #winning #lies never become #truth #marinemom #heroesofkabul my heart screams in pain daily for my son! If any of you are offended by this post then i am sorry that i am not sorry. 13 dead US service members offend me, Biden offends me!! All 13 should still be here!!! This was avoidable!!!”
William Aiken yes it was a terrible tragedy even worse is you’re failure to admit that Trump set that Afghan mess up. Similar to this Ukraine tragedy. Facts matter
Trump is not President and did not order the withdrawal. It was the decision of the current administration.
Trump set the deal . He aimed to corner Bilden
Chris – so a deal that was put into effect in Feb of 2020 – Trump was predicting he was going to lose the Nov 2020 election and pin that on the next president? What would have happened if Trump won?
So it was President Trump who planned the exit strategy to withdraw the military before US civilians? Got it! Did you even bother to read Shana Chappell’s statement? If so, you dismissal of her loss is what’s worse, here. Ms. Chappell aptly puts the blame where it belongs. She vehemently disagrees with you. You refusal to hold President Biden accountable aligns with most Democrats and a complicid media. However, come Nov. the people will make their voices heard at the ballot box.
Please explain the history of why we were in Afghanistan to begin with. Please also point how the Republicans tried to bring that tragic situation to a peaceful end? Please explain how many NATO soldiers and Afghan civilians dies because of yet another Republican misadventure.
ANY failure you think can be tied to the Obama/Biden policies there can be directly traced to a Republican’s foolhardiness.
Chris
This is the craziest of all things and believe me Trump blamed Obama for all bad but didn’t give any credit for any good, Obama blamed Bush, Bush blamed clinton, and round and round we go.
So with that – President Biden owns everything or owns nothing. He can’t take credit for all the jobs and low unemployment (which we are really back at 2019 level employment) but blame Afghanistan, Ukraine, etc on the previous administration.
I just wish someone on this whole blog wasn’t a zealot for the left or right – I know someone must have a brain
All administrations accomplish some good and make some mistakes. For example, Nixon opened up diplomacy with China but Watergate destroyed his presidency. During Trump’s administration operation warp speed resulted in a vaccine but he failed to set up the infrastructure necessary to vaccinate Americans and his ambivalence in describing the seriousness of the pandemic prolonged it. Tax breaks for the top 1%, his failed wall that Mexico never paid for, and his corrupt attempts to stay in office result in a strong negative assessment. Biden is just a little over a year into his presidency. The assessment of his presidency must wait. But infrastructure and handling of the Ukraine situation are successes.
All mothers who lose their children in war grieve deeply and understandably, but few blame it all on the president in office during withdrawal and call him a”lying, liar who lies…and no friend of Jesus.” My sympathies and condolences go out to the mother you describe and I suggest strongly she seek grief consoling to help her accept and live with her loss. Cultivating extreme anger and blaming her loss on one man will only aggravate and extend her suffering.
Shana Chappell was upset the way President Biden appeared disinterested at the ceremony honoring her fallen son. There’s good reason for her to blame Biden. As she states, it was his decisions in the withdrawal that set up the tragedy that unfolded. You know you wouldn’t be so charitable had it been President Trump, who made those same fateful decisions. The reality is Trump would’ve handled the withdrawal quite differently than Biden. A Gallop poll supports that hypothesis, citing 65% of the public don’t think Russia would have invaded Ukraine had President Trump been in office. A significant number that you can’t dismiss out of hand.
“The reality is Trump would’ve handled the withdrawal quite differently than Biden. A Gallop poll supports that hypothesis, citing 65% of the public don’t think Russia would have invaded Ukraine had President Trump been in office.”
This makes no logical sense.
“A significant number that you can’t dismiss out of hand.”
Supply a reliable source for your talking points or they will be ‘dismissed out of hand’ as yet more mindless blather. We saw how Trump handled working with the recognized Afghan government; he and Pompeo excluded them completely from their negotiations with the Taliban.
We all know how good those polls are – they had Hillary Clinton winning 2016 with 306 electoral votes
Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by 3 million. It was our quirky electoral system and narrow popular victories in three states that gave Trump a victory. All polls have margins of error. The national polls reflected the actual outcome of the nationwide popular vote which Clinton won by 2.1 percentage.
Dr Salvatore your spin on Jan 6th is amazing as Ukraine burns as a result of another tyran it is amazing that anyone could make such delusional statements. Guess the committee is getting a little too close for comfort. Trump is simply a traitor a failure as a presidet.
Withdrawal from every war involves casualties. All are regrettable and bring grief to families and friends. Afghanistan was a war that was, like Iraq and Vietnam, a war that should never have started. In all cases we sent troops to a distant country under false pretenses. This makes the losses harder to bear. But blaming the president who brought the troops home is not justified; Biden stopped the unnecessary loss of our soldiers lives; the withdrawal of our troops was under the control of the military which did the best it could under difficult circumstances.
President Biden executed the withdrawal backwards. Here are the relevant facts to this particular withdrawal. Biden ordered the evacuation of the military before US civilians. He closed a secure facility in the Bagram airbase, forcing evacuations to done in a less secure environment. You can’t broad brush these critical details that put 13 honorable members of our military in harm’s way. As Chris S. says fact matter.
American soldiers are no longer dying. That is a fact. As to the details of withdrawal, if mistakes were made that is unfortunate and sad, but to use the deaths as a tool to angrily attack a president with self-righteous indignation is beneath contempt. Are you indignant over the lives lost and the injuries, many life-altering, suffered by individuals as a result of Trump inciting the 1/6 insurrection? You want to forget that; it was over a year ago.
Tell GoldStar, Shana Chappell that she’s beneath contempt! And BTW it’s a fact that there were no military causalities in Afghanistan under the final 18 months of President Trump’s term in office. Trump never hesitated to take out terrorist leaders, who posed a threat to the US. Our enemies knew that as Trump was feared and respected. Biden response to the 13 dead of our military was a drone strike that the media first reported having killed key a terrorist leader. Yet, it actually had killed a large family of Afghans. Its all forgotten though as our media just keeps moving on to the next Biden debacle without any reflection.
Welcome back, William. Still having those night terrors, eh? Makes it hard to tell fact from fiction, doesn’t it? Still can’t understand why everyone hates your king.
How many Afghan lives do you think were taken by the 5000 Taliban fighters trump and pompeo released?
Or do you try not to think about that?
Putin is employing a common strategy of strongmen, lying and blaming his victim for what he has done. AP reports that Putin said the Russian attacks would end “only if Kiev ceases hostilities.” Isn’t that surrendering and accepting Russian dominion?
In the DG article on A1 “Ukraine: Russia steps up shelling” details of Putin’s campaign of lies are given:
“The Russian Defense Ministry alleged, without providing evidence, that Ukrainian forces are plotting to blow up an experimental nuclear reactor in Kharkiv and to blame it on a Russian missile strike.”
“Putin blamed the fire last week at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant…on a provocation organized by Ukranian radicals.”
“Moscow’s new ‘fake news’ law, makes it illegal, among other things, to describe the fighting as an invasion.”
Black is white and white is black. It is time to bear whatever pain we and the rest of the world will suffer and use every strategy short of direct military confrontation with Russia to stop Putin. High gas prices, general inflation, lowering the thermostat etc. pale compared to what Ukrainians are suffering and what we will all suffer if we allow aggression and lies by authoritarian selfish dictators to win the day.
Moscow’s new ‘fake news’ law, makes it illegal, among other things, to describe the fighting as an invasion.”
Reminds me of the burning and looting described as peaceful demonstrations by our unbiased media.
Those damn Demoncrats!
Every single time they’re called on to clean up another Republican fiasco, they fail!
Chuck – we are in office. If bad happens we need to pull up our big boy/big girl pants and take responsibility. Instead we use words like however, but, etc to not truly expect anything.
Please flesh out your latest arguments. What are the bad things that happened and how is Biden responsible? Please cite where “however and but” are used to explain away those bad things.
I didn’t finish the last sentence. Please cite where “however and but” are used WITHOUT supporting evidence and arguments.
You live in a cloistered world if you can’t see open, uninhibited criticism of Democrats, by Liberals and Progressives, and Democrats accepting responsibility.
And it pains me to have to say this, but do not turn my words into fawning over Democrats. They are far from perfect, and for 41 of my 44 years of voting I was not registered with any political party. The popular votes of the past 20 years speak for themselves. Americans prefer Democrats. Wonder why?
Thank you Anthony the smoke being spewed is particularly thick today as Donnie praise s Kim in North Korea. And outlines what his traitorous plan to blame China for attacking his buddy Vlad. are we in a comic book?
William Aiken yes it was tragic that these men died and gave there life for their country. And yes Trump did start the withdrawal plan months earlier. Trump agreed to let out all the prisoners months earlier. This rage you all put out is fake. It’s your hate for Biden that is in play. I’m sure you Republicans will beat this horse like you did Benghazi and Hillary’s emails until election time. Learn the history of our withdrawal and when it actually began.
Gu V: “And yes Trump did start the withdrawal plan months earlier.”
45 never okayed turning over the Bagram airbase to the Taliban or the insane backwards notion of withdrawing the military before our US citizens, many of whom still languish behind in Afghanistan. These unforced errors fall on President Biden. When I read Shana Chappell’s post, there’s nothing fake about it. She’s specifically lays out why her anger is directed the President. That the media ignores this story is a disgrace that shows their partisanship favoring Biden, proving they’re just activists, not serious journalists.
As far as the US citizens languishing behind …People were told to get out months before …They choose to stay because they thought the Afghan military would hold the country..They didn’t, and now they pay the price for their indecisions. I believe that Biden did what he could in the short time they had after the Afghan military collapsed. Their are many to blame for Afghanistan going back to Bush. It is her right to complain as a mother of a fallen soldier. But the blame isn’t just one person. Did you forget Trump attacking the Gold Star family on national TV….Pleas eshow me your outrage evenly
“This is the craziest of all things and believe me Trump blamed Obama for all bad but didn’t give any credit for any good, Obama blamed Bush, Bush blamed clinton, and round and round we go.
So with that – President Biden owns everything or owns nothing. He can’t take credit for all the jobs and low unemployment (which we are really back at 2019 level employment) but blame Afghanistan, Ukraine, etc on the previous administration.” That was posted today and it’s spot on. If you’re going to give a speech touting all the good you’ve done then you must be able to accept the failures and learn from them. Trump had a tough time understanding that concept and now Biden does as well. Maybe part of the job is for a President to gaslight the American people, it seems to be the norm these days. Trump was blamed for everything during his tenure, didnt matter the issue he was to blame. Today, we blame Biden and the deflection runs wild. The Buck stops at the top and the American people elected Biden to be The Buck. This is his movie and now we’re all living in it. This country is in a pickle economically and militarily. Let’s see what he’s got, if he turns things around then the American peoples view of him will be favorably. I personally hope he can pull this off but if he can’t The Buck stops with him and his admin.
EXCEPT, you may notice far, far more people who can be seen as “Biden supporters” are willing to criticize him and accept his and that party’s failures.
While from the other side…mindless minions.
Chuck D. That comment alone shows that you’re part of the problem. It’s juvenile and brings nothing to the table intellectually. Nothing.
Here is the thing Wayne….your post is fair and accurate but what I think Chuck was trying to say is that Biden supporters admit failure and mistakes. I personally agree with much that has said about Afghanistan. Biden didn’t listen to his military leaders and this was a poorly executed withdrawal. Now on the other hand….Can you name me even one President that could do and say the things that Trump has done and said and still be standing , never mind still be the # 1 candidate for the R party nomination? That is simply outrageous! Biden is far from perfect and has failed on some things….I can say it…..I have several very good friends that are still Trump supporters and none of them without exception can admit all the harm and terrible things that Trump has said and done. They all fight fire with fire by saying that Biden is worst. I see it here on this board also….Biden supporters admit weakness and failure but literally none of the Trumpsters ever acknowledge his horrible acts. I believe that is what Chuck was trying to say but that’ certainly how I look at it.
Doug. Please dont speak for Chuck D., I have no interest in his rhetoric and name calling. When you say Biden supporters admit failures and mistakes, this is false. Some rational Biden supporters do and the irrational dont. It’s the same with Trump supporters, the rational ones knows he dropped the ball on many occasions and the irrational thinks he walks on water. You see life through a different set of lense than a Trump supporter, that’s why the elections are typically close. You have 2 different opinions and they are like oil and water these days. I voted for Trump twice, he aligned more to my way of thinking than Biden does. Trump made a ton of major mistakes and he was fired in Nov of 2020. He made a complete as- of himself after and showed himself to be a vile sore loser. So here we are, March 2022. Ukraine’s on fire, inflation is strangling Americans, we have major supply chain issues, We said we’d leave no Amercian’s behind in Afghan but we did. This is all happening with Joe Biden guiding the ship. Trashing Trump 24/7 does not create a smokescreen around what’s happening today. You folks elected Joe Biden to run the show and time will tell to see if he’s as good as advertised. So far I’m not seeing it, hope he proves me wrong.
First of all if you read my last line I said that I “believe” that is what Chuck is saying and said that I “certainly” believe that. You are taking offense to the comment about Trumps minions. Secondly I do get the fact that there are 2 sets of lenses and there are different ways of trying to solve issues. I get that and that is all fine but at the end of the day I believe the individual , the person him or herself is what really matters. Trump had no business even running for President never mind being President. I don’t expect you to be swayed based on my views but have you ever taken the time to see all the comments and opinions of his own Staff? OMG…..these are his own key people saying things like over his head , no clue , idiot , and more….of course Putin never would have done what he has done with regards to Ukraine….he was getting everything he wanted from Trump. If Trump got his way , USA would have gotten out of NATO! If it weren’t for the efforts of Bolton and Mattis that could have happened! I am not a Biden lover but if it’s a choice between Biden and Trump , to me there is no choice. Trump is evil….I mean What President admires and loves an evil dictator like Putin and cheats and lies like you and I breath and talk….Come on….I am not saying Biden is great but we can’t have a wanna be dictator as President. Democracy at the end of the day has to be held as the top priority. Anyone minimizing Jan 6th is a Trump apologist and doesn’t fully understand what was and is at stake. The fact that Trump is still the #1 choice to be the R candidate in 2024 is beyond a disgrace.
Right. You voted for this guy twice:
“My people came to me, (Director of National Intelligence) Dan Coats came to me and some others saying they think it’s Russia. I have President Putin, he just said it’s not Russia,” Trump said. “I will say this, I don’t see any reason why it would be.”
Who’s intellectually empty? Here’s some more name-calling: traitor.
You prove my point every time your fingers hit the keyboard Chuck. Again, you bring nothing to the table except for nonsense. Its people like you that have created an environment where its my way or the highway. You can call me all the names you want, my skin is thick. You’re no better than Trump, you disagree and then trash, thats a Trump trait. Look in the mirror Chuck, do you see Trump?
I provided an exact quote of a US President siding with our sworn adversary over our own intelligence, and you call that “nonsense”? You really don’t like being called out for voting twice for him, do you? I’d be embarrassed too, I suppose. Your pain is palpable.
DWP, you are guilty of everything you blindly accuse ChuckD of doing; “you bring nothing to the table except for nonsense.” – Chuck has consistently posted rock solid facts with links and direct quotes to back his words, you on the other hand blather out nothing with any substance, only biased opinions.
Then coming from a man cut from the same cloth as trump to imply that Chuck (the obvious anti-trump) is one and the same as trump is far beyond ludicrous and shows you have absolutely no understanding of the reality of the situation.
Couldn’t let this one slide Chuck.
Tx. The cult runs deep in this one.
Lotsa words, not so much substance.
Is the truck rally over?
Chuck D, Perhaps this definition from the Oxford English Dictionary will help people mesmerized by Trump understand themselves more clearly: “a misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing.” I’ll add my belief that it causes them to believe in a severely distorted “reality” that exists only in their minds and the minds of the person they venerate.
The above is a definition of CULT.
D Wayne P–this election was NOT close! Biden won by 7 million, and the Electoral College was 306 – 232, which was a “landslide” according to 45 when he won against Hillary. Get real!
You voting for him twice was a disgrace as 45 showed how despicable he was, and he only got worse.
DWP, you said you voted for trump twice. By 2020, trump was exposed as the man who gave praise to the autocratic leaders of countries that are certainly not our allies. By then it was obvious he was a traitor and was only concerned with his own personal wants.( look at the criminals he appointed to back him up) Biden, may not have been my 1st choice for President, (I now think he’s doing a great job) but if nothing else it was obvious, unlike trump, he was looking out for the best interests of American and it was a no-brainer choice as to who to vote for.
Putin`s big lie is playing out before our eyes. Trump’s big lie failed like most of the crop he tried.why would anyone in the right mind vote that lunatic back into office. Assuming the slim chance he’s not a convicted felon by election time as Zach William fears?
Shame on you Dr Salvatore. The good news for you , however, is that you have a bright future in talk radio. You sure know how to push buttons. First of all….unless you are just seeking attention , why would you compare Jan 6 to such catastrophies like 9/11 or Dec 7th? On a purely pragmatic level , of course 9/11 and Dec 7th were far worse as far more innocent Americans were killed senselessly. Nobody would argue with that ,but why you are even making that comparison is beyond me! The part that you aren’t even seeing or mentioning is the realistic potential for far worse circumstances actually taking hold. If you don’t even acknowledge that our own President was trying to overthrow Democracy then you are minimally guilty of leaving out a vital aspect from this terrible event. Something like this has literally never even come close to happening. Let’s do the math….Trump loves and admires a dictator like Putin and then tries to have a fair election overthrown….hmmm…..kind of bad don’t you think. This almost happened in USA ! You are either looking for a new job in talk radio as you certainly did a great job in ruffling feathers and/or a closet Trump supporter who is in complete denial of the magnitude of the events of Jan 6th!
I can’t imagine why anyone would minimize the catastrophe that 1/6 was. It could have ended our constitutional republic. On 9/11 and 12/7 we were attacked by foreign terrorists and enemies. To use those attacks to minimize a domestic terrorist insurrection is misguided and disturbing. A blast of bear spray in the face is not a minor attack. Fire extinguishers, flag poles, police shields and fists were used as weapons with several deaths and life altering injuries resulting. All this occurred while the president who incited the mob sat safely enjoying the violence and chaos with glee, doing nothing to stop it for over three hours.
Let’s not forget the pipe bombs placed outside the Capitol. if they weren’t found many more people would have died. Also the guy who was caught with a trove of weapons in his car. People who downplay 1/6 are just Trump apologists plain and simple…Any true American knows the severity of 1/6
Exactly, Guy. The Dr. also fails to mention the Capitol police officers who died that day and those who took their own lives after the fact.
Doug. Trump had just as much right to run as you and I. Trump didn’t win that election on who he was, Trump won because of the anti-Hillary vote. Trump was trounced in a similar fashion, it was “Elect anyone but Trump”, I get it man. Why are people so obsessed with him that they can’t focus on the hand thats in front of them? If you think he was evil, a traiter, grifter, its cool, its YOUR opinion. Dude’s like Chuck like to dismiss anyone who doesn’t see the world the way he does. He can’t hold an intelligent conversation without resorting to childish B S when an objection comes up. Chuck would never make the debate team, that I know. It seems that people would want to debate in todays world and everything thats going on. What’s the best way out of the Ukraine mess? How do we control inflation and improve our lives? How do we better educate our kids? How do we live in a country with less crime? How do we improve our roads, bridges, health care, veterans care, etc. Nope, we’d rather name call and minimize people instead of speaking like an intelligent man or woman. A tart temper never mellows with age, and a sharp tongue is the only edged tool that grows keener with constant use. … right on!
The way you are describing Chuck is who you voted for TWICE!
Let’s keep this between you and me. Chuck has posted here many times before and has actually offered up some really good thoughts and ideas. But let’s move away from that. If you want to hang your hat on “it’s my opinion”….not going to argue that but if that’s the best defense of voting for a guy that is a “traitor , grifter, evil , con man , narcisist , completely untrustworthy , a liar , loyal to only himself, then by all means you keep going down that rabbit hole. Like I said , I don’t expect you to take my point of view so do yourself a favor and google up and see for yourself what Mattis, Bolton, Tillerson and many others think of him. Those are the guys that we should be listening to. I know that the right doesn’t want to hear this (saying in general not necessarily you) but that would take away their favorite complaint that the media is bias etc. Challenge yourself and learn the truth. What you aren’t seeing and / or acknowledging is that all those issues you mentioned don’t matter if we have a dictatorial autocrat running the show. This is why the Trump side plays down the magnitude of what happened on Jan 6th. It is a really big deal and if you don’t see it that way , well then we will just have to disagree. It should have been a line that ALL Americans said….okay enough! And last but not least , us Trump haters are only obsessed with him because despite all the horrible things he has said and done , he is still the # 1 guy from my former party. And yes the Dem’s have an old President that is having a tough first year so that combination frightens the s…. out of me and others!
Right on Doug. You’ve explained your opinions well and I respect you for that. Unfortunately, the 2 parties have a monopoly on who we vote for. An Independant with all the right intentions doesnt have a snowballs chance in hell of winning. He or she will get destroyed by the RNC, DNC, and mainstream media. So basically they shove 2 options to us out of all the talented options out there. The DNC pushed Biden through as the Dem candidate and the RNC supported Trump. So its either A or B and if A screws things up then it’s supporters are crucified. If B screws up the same thing happens. The anger is misguided, its the furking system that needs overhauled but corporate money will not allow this. That’s where guys like Trump D. need to put his anger, not at someone he doesnt know typing on a laptop. Thats why this is the “Opinion” section of the Gazette, we all have one and most are different.
We could greatly reduce corporate power over our elections by reversing Citizens United but that is unlikely considering the conservative 6 to 3 majority on the Supreme Court today.
More voter participation in primaries would increase the influence of the general population in deciding which Democrat or Republican will run for office. Our current system only works with two parties. Perhaps we should convert to a parliamentary system in which the executive head of government, or Prime Minister, is chosen by the people elected to the legislative branch. That system works better in a multiparty democracy. Elections can be held whenever the P.M. loses a major vote in Congress, a “vote of no confidence”.
Reversing Citizens United would probably require a Constitutional amendment. Converting to a parliamentary democracy would require a Constitutional Convention. The only realistic choice is to be informed and vote in your parties primaries.
A review of posts on this site would show far more insults and name calling coming from the right. It would also show that the left far more often uses facts and reasoning rather than the unreliable sources and emotional outbursts the right tends to rely on.
Dr. Arthur Salvatore, name another time when the president of the United States continually lied knowing he lost an election, pressured officials with abuses of his power, told a riled up mob to go to the Capitol with “strength” to purposely disrupt a democratic function, refused a peaceful transfer of power, or refused to allow the incoming administration a transition?
If that’s not enough, throw in the fact that 45 was willing for Madam Pelosi to be dragged out by her feet AND would have sacrificed his own VP to be assassinated! 45 watched, reportedly, with glee as officers were being beaten and the Capitol was overrun.
There is NO comparison to BLM where protesting has always been a part of our democracy, where unfortunately violence & looting sometimes occurs. This minority group has been oppressed and fighting for racial equality for hundreds of years.
Apparently, you think TRAITORS and TREASON is not that big of a deal, even if they overthrow our Constitutional Republic. Pearl Harbor was a serious threat and so was 45s Insurrection!

Arthur Salvatore, you and people like you truly don’t get it, or just don’t care. You’re correct, there is no comparison between 1/6 and 9/11, Pearl Harbor.
You see Mr. Salvatore, the huge and most significant difference in these events, that you clearly don’t understand, is that that 9/11 and Pearl Harbor were attacks by foreign enemies, and patriotic Americans fought back to save democracy and America. 1/6 was exactly the opposite. It was about treasonous US citizens fighting to destroy democracy and America from within. Thank god that evil orange lost the election and chemotherapy is being administered to the cancerous activity’s of 1/6 and the like. Hopefully the seeds of the virulent disease planted by people of your mindset will be eradicated.
Regarding your comments/comparisons related to BLM; that has been explained hundreds of times to your deaf ears. – Too bad that people (apparently like you) only have one concern regarding racism and white supremacy, that being it’s finally getting addressed in a manner that is threatening to the white privilege life style.
Can we all agree that President Biden needs to renew drilling leases?
There are over 9000 available drilling leases unused.
How many more do you think they need?
And what would they do with them? I’ve already supplied two reliable sources in the past week stating the oil processors along the gulf coast cannot process American oil because it has different characteristics, and they cannot easily change their processes.
Is this about gas prices (please don’t say it is)?
Maybe you should not listen to right wing media Biden has approved more leases than Trump did
After years of federal lease sales to oil, gas and coal companies, environmentalists had hopes that President Biden would end the fossil fuel bonanza.
But one year after announcing a halt to any new federal oil and gas leasing, Biden has outpaced Donald Trump in issuing drilling permits on public lands. After setting a record for the largest offshore lease sale last year in the Gulf of Mexico, the Interior Department plans to auction off oil and gas drilling rights on more than 200,000 acres across Western states by the end of March, followed by 1 million acres in the Cook Inlet, off the coast of Alaska.
Washington Post
Joe, Asked and answered a few days ago in press conference. Up to big Oil now I would say. With all the discussions on price of gas, where we get crude oil from, we were energy independent under Former Guy etc. From Press Sectary news briefing in last few days when asked about our oil purchases Ms Psaki respond with the following FACTS. The fossil fuel industry has 9,000 that’s thousand open unused permits for exploring and drilling. A total of 37 million acres of off shore and land based areas under those permits. My guess as the prices continue on up those permits will come into play.
Just like trump should have ordered the retrofit of factories to build ventilators biden should order big oil to tool refineries to increase production. Biden can also relax ethanol concentrations to allow a “dirtier” product to get us thru the next two years. Fuel is $6.09 here in CA. Or how about telling each state to relax the .60-$1.50 in fuel tax. Maybe some of the BBB or Infrastructure monies can be used to subsidize each state for forgoing the taxes.
Working families are now deciding on filling a tank or 3 days of groceries because of money its taking out of their pockets.
This crew on this platform have said over and over that they want a reasonable dialogue and when a person like Mr. D Wayne comes on you treat him like you treat me, Mr. Marincic, Mr. Barney, and Mr. Aiken, you talk down and insult. Do you not wonder why it is almost always just yourselves running roughshod over this platform, why people are hesitant to post or send letters? I believe you all need to be banned not WM or FB.
No Zach, banning does nothing. You chose who you want to engage with and who you dont, noone needs to be censored for their opinion. Thats the crap they just tried pulling with Joe Rogan, its complete B.S. Its easy to figure out who’s worthy or who isn’t worthy of engagement. Guys like Chuck D. try to run over u for thinking differently, I should start referring to him as Trump D. They use the same tactic and the wild part is he hates Trump. Bullies all act the same way except in this case they use the keyboard instead of fists. I’m sure you’ll see Trump D. prove me right here shortly. Peace brother.
I’ll run over you for lying and thinking you can get away with.
But enough with the man-crush, m’kay?
Trump D, you’re all talk brother. My man crush attraction started at the very first thing you replied to me. I was attracted to your wit and in depth analysis on the situation. Bullies have an attractiveness that one can’t describe, you got me at minions. *Sighh
And thus ends my brief and underwhelming interaction with you.
Sounds good Chuck D. Right on.
Mr. D Wayne, what happened is these people on here had others send emails asking to have Mr. Marincic and Mr. Barney banned which they were. They can only post if Mr. Mahoney approves it whenever. A Mr. Todd came on here and stated that he and others complained to Mr. Mahoney about those two people who are BTW republicans or Independent. These people on here don’t want an opposing view, any view other than their own on this platform is treated with insults and disdain as you saw.
And of course you can prove your accusations, right?
So they support censorship? They’re cowards then. They should find an echo chamber to partaketh in and not an opinion area of a local news outlet. They can high five and fist bump all day. Thats the crap they tried pulling on Rogan. They didnt agree with HIS guests on HIS show and tried to muzzle him. Let people decide for themselves whats factual and whats not. I dont need some dude telling me what I should believe or not believe. At that point you choose to either listen to them or find another Podcast to watch or listen to. Noone was twisting anyones arm and making them listen to it, they chose to do so. Shall we disect every Podcast or news outlet and cancel them if we dont agree? Hell the big 3 Fox, CNN, and MSNBC spread propaganda and misinformation on a daily basis yet they’re allowed to operate 24/7/365 with no recourse, Y? Corporate media money might have a little to do with it aye.
There is no evidence to support an effort on the part of anyone on this site to ban Marincic or Barney. Why would anyone bother? All you have to do is ignore their posts or read them to try and figure out the thinking of the modern American conservative. Or, just for a belly laugh.
Untrue, find Mr. Dominic Tom post from February 21st
Fact: Privately held media companies aren’t legally obligated to publish public comments.
The forum’s so-called “lefties,” in opposing the “righties,” descend into the gutter with mutually infantile insults and derogatory names.
Several readers recently filed complaints with The Gazette’s Mark Mahoney, who committed to more closely monitor postings and deny the obscenely offensive ones.

Exactly. Let them speak man, let u speak man.
The more ‘they’ talk, the clearer we see. The hatred they spew for anyone Republican is amazing. It must be hard living in a black and white world with no grey areas.
Please help us understand how you qualify as a voice of reason?
Seems you accused the Editor of lying, didn’t you?
Yes you did.

If what Mr. Mahoney said is true then we should see Mr. Marincic and Mr. Barney posting on here, otherwise he’s not telling the truth. I also have a question for you Florida, why isn’t anyone talking about the biggest story in the world right now? Why isn’t anyone talking about the Durham report? If you don’t talk about it does that mean it’s not true or you’re just ignoring the facts?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Easily proved with a Goggle search. More excellent messaging from the Right, opposite of what is happening. Democrats terrible at countering it.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/biden-is-approving-more-oil-and-gas-drilling-permits-on-public-lands-than-trump-analysis-finds/ar-AARwkaq
During Biden’s first year in office so far, BLM has approved an average of 333 drilling permits per month. That figure is more than 35% higher than Trump’s first year in office, when BLM approved an average of 245 drilling permits per month.
That number is also higher than the monthly average in 2018 (279 permits) and 2019 (284 permits), but lower than the monthly average in 2020 (452 permits), when oil companies stockpiled permits in the final months of the Trump administration.
Of course, regulations will make it 10 years to produce from oil leases by those trying to shove green energy down our throats.
Zachary, Excellent question. why isn’t anyone talking about the biggest story in the world right now? Why isn’t anyone talking about the Durham report? If you don’t talk about it does that mean it’s not true or you’re just ignoring the facts?
So back at you. Why with all the sources you and others cite for information why isn’t this biggest story in the world being discussed on those sources? Please advise me of any currant links with more information than what already came out. Also did you miss Mr Durhams statement of how the RW was misinterpreting what he published? Maybe while you and WM were on suspension it was debunked for several days here. Lastly I would guess the Russian invasion of its neighbor is front page in case you missed it. Fox by the way is doing a excellent job with there coverage from Ukraine.
Let’s underscore and emphasize your point Florida2015, DURHAM SAID HIS REPORT WAS BEING MISINTERPRETED AND MISREPRESENTED BY REPUBLICANS. I don’t want them to overlook that.
Thank you Florida for sharing this. I am not at all surprised but had not heard this. It just reiterates the need for multiple news sources especially if FOX is your # 1 source. Speaking of FOX…..Did anyone see the opening monologue of SNL…..great opening with Laura Ingraham and Tucker being parroted. Whatever your flavor is….great impressions and funny if you aren’t a fan of them.
Zachary William….before being reasonable the person must post reasonable factual posts …I do agree he has the right to say what he likes…as I do when I see posts that aren’t very factual ….You think because we disagree with someone we are picking on them. If one can’t stand the heat …get out of the kitchen. I suggest William you unscrew you MAGA hat just a little and stop crying. If I were you I’d make a 3rd account and come in fresh
Chuck – I’m not that important!! If I paid to have a bulletin board naming Trump as a criminal will that move DOJ to open and investigation? No – it will be a waste of time, energy & money
Harry Truman was spot on when he said “the buck stops here”. He understood that the man voted to be in charge makes the decisions and is responsible for those decisions. That seems to have gotten lost somewhere over the years. Today’s politicians practice “the buck stops with the admin before me” It’s never their fault, blame is always passed off to someone else. The media gets behind it and the polician moves on to the next issue without truly addressing the one at hand. No wonder the approval rate for House, Senate, and Pres are so low. We get what we allow.
Yup, that’s how we got Trump:
Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
Trump was elected by the American people if Im not mistaken. I hope you’re not going to argue that the electoral college system is flawed. Would you use that same logic if NY, Cali, Illinois, Florida, and Texas consistently voted red? I think not, you’d probably be arguing about how important it is . It’s amazing how people think when the shoe’s on the other foot. If he runs in 2024 the American people will decide if he deserves to serve again or not. If he does get re-elected Im sure there will be a bunch of the folks on this page that will probably blow an artery. Then you can use the phrase you used, fool me once, fool me twice ………. ce la vie man.
At the end of the day I am in favor of the electoral college. Having said that , it is far from perfect. It’s hard to argue States like Vermont, Delaware , and the Dakota’s getting 2 Senators each and larger States like Texas, NY , California, and Florida having the same as perfect. So I wouldn’t automatically say that someone opposed to the electoral college is saying they are against it only because they saw Trump win in an electoral college result but losing the popular vote. In a somewhat related matter , it was Republicans in response to FDR winning 4 elections that had the Constitution changed to 2 term Presidential maximums. So it is very reasonable to oppose the electoral college without it being for personal reasons. Just saying.
Didnt hear one word even mentioning it until the 2016 election. Then I heard it multiple times because a candidate won the popular vote but didn’t win the electoral, oh it should be done away with blah blah blah. Those same people would be defending it if Trump won the popular and Hillary won the electoral. I ts amazing how the mind works when the shoe is on the other foot. Which is it? Do they truly support it or no? I support it.
You have to be kidding? Do you not recall 2000 and Al Gore ? The guy won by a half million votes in the popular vote (far closer than Trump) but obviously tied in the electoral vote. That’s really when that vibe started. And you would think minimally that if an electoral tie should occur that then they turn to the popular vote but again obviously the framers never thought about that. Can you even imagine if that ever happened to Trump…..OMG….WW3 would happen! So yes did that perspective get ignited after 2016….yes but it was out there quite a bit since 2000. I actually would like to see the nation adopt what Nebraska and Maine do (not a winner take all). I say that not knowing what that would have done in both 2000 or 2016
If the president were chosen by the American people rather than through the electoral college system, which gives much more weight to individuals in states with low populations, Hillary Clinton would have won in 2016 and Al Gore would have won in 2000. The electoral college system has been criticized since the country began. You don’t know my mind and I can assure you I have always backed the popular vote over the electoral college to choose our president.
I know what he is saying about it getting a lot of play after 2016 but to act like it wasn’t discussed a lot especially after Al Gore is just pure nonsense. That’s why I like the way that Maine and Nebraska do it. It’s not a winner take all approach and this system would motivate candidates to go to States that currently they do not go. Isn’t virtually everything a hybrid approach now already!
1 more thing and I know that I will come off as a Monday Morning QB but it is amazing that our founders did not provide a clear cut process for ties. I mean there are rules for ties in baseball, football, hockey, and even soccer. As brilliant as they all were , that one always amazed me. It would seem that the obvious way to go would have been to use the Popular vote in the case of a tie. Sensible and far less political than the way it was and I guess still is.
My understanding is that in case a tie occurs, the H of R decides the election with each state delegation getting one vote. Dividing a state’s electoral vote to reflect the popular vote is simply a cumbersome way of using the popular vote! The popular vote would get candidates to every state.
But in Gore v Bush it was the US Supreme Court that overruled the Florida Supreme Court and awarded Florida to Bush. So unless it got changed , that’s not right. I can’t even imagine what that would do to our country with an already militant attitude towards each other. I totally disagree that politicians would go to States that they know they have no chance. They would be in Ohio , Florida, Texas, and Florida and a few others. What motivation would there be to spend time in a virtual losing cause? There would likely be a token visit or two but nothing meaningful. California would virtually see no R’s and the South would see little or no D’s. In the hybrid model , there is added motivation to perhaps lose but make it close and grab some added electoral votes.
Yes and the fly over states thank you so much. In your theory, they have no say so in the outcome. The major populations come from states that u can count on 10 fingers. Why should they tell the rest of the country that their vote doesnt matter because they arent the majority in population? That reign could last for generations and generations. Balance is the key to everything, everyone get’s to have a voice. Not just some dude in the gazette who gives the middle finger to corn and wheat country. No sir.
Anthony – I thought CBS just had a special on Durham report yesterday where there has been 3 indictments including a former FBI attorney that doctored evidence.
Joseph please fill me in …The last I heard is the 1 guy they indicted is asking a judge to dismiss the case. His lawyers claim even if he did what they say it wasn’t against the law.
Guy
From CBS show yesterday morning – 3/6/22 – have been three indictments to date
“In January, a former FBI lawyer, Kevin Clinesmith, was sentenced to probation for having falsified a claim that was used to maintain surveillance of Page”
Igor Danchenko, the analyst, was charged in a grand jury indictment with five counts of making false statements to the FBI about the so-called Steele dossier during interviews with agents in 2017.
3rd is michael sussmann -obtained an indictment against then-Perkins Coie law firm partner Michael Sussmann for allegedly lying to the FBI when he offered a tip in 2016 about the possible secret electronic channel between Trump’s company and a Russian bank. Sussmann has denied the allegation. He has since asked for a dismissal.
Joseph and all this adds up to a nothing burger…Instead of reading the Durham report try reading The Mueller report. And not what AG Barr told you what was in it
I think there are some who claim to be Democrats only to make their attacks on Biden seem more credible.
Legal experts have questioned the strength of Durham’s case against Sussmann. For instance, there is only one witness to the lie he allegedly told the FBI, and that witness has given differing accounts of the situation. Before his trial, Sussmann will try to convince a judge to throw out the case because there isn’t enough evidence. His first arguments on this front are due on Friday.
The five-year statute of limitations appears to have passed for Durham to charge Sussmann with crimes related to his CIA meeting. Sussmann maintains that he had no reason to doubt the information that he passed along to the CIA. Beyond that, the Durham inquiry is ongoing, but it’s unclear if he if has the goods to indict anyone else or allege a broader anti-Trump conspiracy.
Connections between Trump and Russia: After his election he accepted Putin’s word over the C.I.A’s, praised Putin’s “savvy” and “genius”, and threatened to withhold aid to Ukraine unless President Zelensky launched a baseless investigation of Biden. Before the campaign he was attempting to seal a deal to build a Trump Tower in Moscow, got a plank in the Republican platform to reduce aid to Ukraine, and openly sought Russia’s aid in the campaign when he said:
“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing.”
Let’s keep attacking Hillary; it worked with the Benghazi and the ‘private server’ nonsense. Let’s stick to the script.
Right on Anthony the claim they were Democrats…Which is a lie, If they were true democrats they would never have voted for Trump. I have been an Independent all my life that leaned Democrat ….No democrat would ever tolerate the republican party today. I can understand people wanting a change and giving Trump a chance. But after 4 years of mayhem in the oval office I can’t see how anyone would vote for him again.
Guy – you aren’t the least bit bothered that a top FBI lawyer was politically involved enough to doctor a potential piece of evidence?
Our judicial system is supposed to stay out of the political fray
Guy:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/kevin-clinesmith-fbi-john-durham/2021/01/28/b06e061c-618e-11eb-afbe-9a11a127d146_story.html
The guy is an attorney, he is sending negative txts about Donald Trump the candidate and then he forged a document.
When that happens the integrity of the entire system is in question….. isn’t it?
I’m sorry I can’t agree with you. You people find one little thing that doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. But then ignore the entirety of the Mueller report. Some 30 people were indicted or tried on factual information from the Mueller report. The Steele dossier didn’t enter one bit into the Mueller report. Joseph read the entirety of the Mueller Report and compare to the Durham report. You’ll the scale dips grossly to the Mueller report which you seem to ignore
Guy
I’ve read the Mueller report – yes I agree 30 ppl to 3. Then candidate Trump and his team are scumbags and law breakers – all civilians.
I’m probably too hung up on an FBI attorney who I view like elliott ness as untouchable. I guess I need to change my perspective of always believing that evidence isn’t (or can’t be) planted and there are no frame ups or throw down weapons also – wanted to think they were just in the movies.
Of the five winners who lost the popular vote, three (Adams, Harrison, and Trump) ran for reelection four years later and lost the popular vote again and lost the election as well, one (Bush) ran and won the election as well as the popular vote, and one (Hayes) did not run for reelection.
As long as the discussion about only having two parties, this might help to lighten the conservation. Not of my making, so don’t blame me.
“The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer and remove the crab grass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn’t work and then get elected and prove it.”
I asked the question on Political Discoarse here about 10 or 12 months ago. What would do you like that others on here might like also to see what we might have in common, politics aside. I received this post from a neighbor and thought it worth saving.
Maybe it’s not so much WHAT we want as WHY we want it and HOW we go about getting it! I want peace. I want joy. I want nice stuff. I don’t want to have to read about insane fools with guns mass-murdering children. I don’t like the idea of living where the fallout can reach for when some unwise hotspur decides to make his mark on the world. I don’t want to pay taxes to a government that kidnaps and cages children. I want death to be from old age, not terrorism, war, or pollution. I don’t want more hurricanes and hotter summers. I want to be able to go outside without breathing hydrocarbons from fossil fuels or hearing nothing but sirens and traffic noise. I’d like to see people who engage in political discussions be educated in current events enough to separate fact from propaganda. I don’t want to hear about people going bankrupt for medical expenses. I want everyone who needs medical care to have it. I want people not to have to work 2 or 3 jobs to pay the rent. I’d like to live far, far, away from people too inconsiderate to wear a mask to protect their fellow human beings. Is that a good start?
Amen Florida2015, Amen.
I hate a whataboutism from someone else as a deflection, but Joseph this guy was going to go wayyyy beyond lying to the FBI. NO All of it bad, bad. We have gone beyond saying politics is a game for one with sharp elbows. How about no moral compass, no integrity on and on
Justice Department lawyer Jeffrey Clark nearly convinced then-President Donald Trump to remove then-acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen and use the Department of Justice to undo Georgia’s election results, The New York Times reported Friday.
Clark — who appealed to the former President’s false claims of election fraud — met with Trump earlier this month and told Rosen following the meeting that the then-President was going to replace him with Clark. Clark would then move to keep Congress from certifying the election results in then-President-elect Joe Biden’s favor, according to the paper.
Florida – totally agree. How do we stop politicians from corrupting life long government workers that are the swords of our society?
