COLONIE — Albany International Airport is open and operating. The airport’s Snow Team has been put on alert and will be scheduled for 12-hour shifts beginning early Saturday morning on March 12.

Airport department managers along with airline, Million Air and TSA representatives met for a pre-storm meeting on Friday afternoon and were told to expect the storm to arrive as rain at 8 a.m. Saturday, switch to rain and snow by 9 a.m. and turn to snow from 10 a.m. through 10 p.m. Saturday.

Several airlines have begun to post Travel Waivers to enable arriving or departing Albany passengers to change their travel schedule without a penalty. Travelers are requested to check with their airline to verify travel waivers.

Travelers are advised to arrive at their ticket counters up to two hours prior to the scheduled departure of their flights due to a higher than normal passenger traffic.
