BALLSTON SPA – The high school student who was struck by a state police vehicle on Ballston Avenue after school Thursday was in the roadway, and not in a crosswalk, when she was struck, state police said Friday.

Brinley R. Zoller, 16, of Ballston Spa was being treated Friday at Albany Medical Center for injuries not considered life-threatening, state police said in a statement Friday.

The unmarked transporter vehicle that struck Zoller was driven by state police Investigator Danielle Keating, who was traveling south on Ballston Avenue, authorities said.

Keating was on duty and driving “in accordance with her official duties at the time of the collision,” the statement read.

The crash is not believed to be weather related, however it is still under investigation by state police.
