The preliminary investigation indicated that a car had been traveling south on Hop City Road when it crossed into the northbound lane, striking the pedestrians, officials said.

The investigation remained ongoing Tuesday evening.

Hop City Road between Devil’s Lane and Root Road remained closed into the evening Tuesday for the sheriff’s Collision Reconstruction Unit’s work, officials said.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Community EMS, Ballston Lake EMS, the Burnt Hills and Ballston Spa fire departments and Life Net, officials said.
