
The third quarter was Siena’s undoing, as UMass outscored the Saints 8-1 en route to an 18-12 women’s lacrosse win on Tuesday at Hickey Field.
The Minutemen (5-2), ranked 22nd in the Inside Lacrosse poll, scored the eight goals on 10 shots on goal.
UMass jumped out to a 5-2 lead after the first quarter, with its first goal of the game coming from Clifton Park’s Kendra Harbinger, who played four seasons at UAlbany and tallied 160 career points before competing as a graduate student for UMass this year.

UMass increased the lead to 9-3 until Mary Soures scored two of her team-high five goals 56 seconds apart late in the second quarter to keep Siena (2-5) within striking range.
Siena rallied in the fourth, outscoring UMass 6-1. Kelly Marra led UMass with five goals, while Harbinger finished with three, giving her a team-high 21.
Soures finished with five goals, while Nicole McNeely added four goals and four assists, for a team-best 31 points on the season.
