Falk, Pascale lift UAlbany women’s lacrosse past Canisius

Sarah Falk had five goals and an assist in UAlbany’s 20-15 women's college lacrosse non-conference win over Canisius on Wednesday.

BUFFALO — Sarah Falk had five goals and an assist, and Katie Pascale added four goals and five assists Wednesday at the UAlbany women’s lacrosse team defeated Canisius 20-15 in a non-conference game at Demske Sports Complex.

The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for the Great Danes (2-4).

The Great Danes got off to a great start. They took a 6-0 lead after the first quarter, and they had an 8-0 lead in the second quarter. UAlbany had a 13-6 halftime lead.

“We are so proud of how we started this game, gaining possessions on the draw, causing turnovers on defense, and finishing offensive opportunities,” UAlbany head coach Katie Thompson in a press release. “It was a hard-fought and physical game from start to finish. We’ll enjoy this win tonight and get back to work tomorrow.”

Ava Poupard added three goals for UAlbany.

Leading the way for Canisius (4-2) was Caroline Netti with five goals and an assist. Megan Hoffman contributed four goals.
