Nott Street construction in Niskayuna begins Monday

NISKAYUNA — Beginning Monday, drivers should plan for delays along Nott Street in Niskayuna as the county begins construction work on the road.

The work is expected to cause intermittent lane closures between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until September, according to a news release.

The project calls for items like sidewalks on both sides of the street, angled parking with a raised curb to separate the area from the road and additional crosswalks.

Pedestrians will still be able to access businesses in the work zone during hours of operation throughout the construction period. Sidewalks will be poured at night using easy-setting concrete so they are accessible by the following morning and minimize impact to businesses, according to the release.
