
Siena took the lead late in the first quarter and never relinquished it in a 15-8 non-league women’s lacrosse win over Wagner in Staten Island on Wednesday.
The Saints (4-5) scored the last two goals of the first on tallies by Jordan Bentley and Mary Soures. Siena opened it up in the second quarter by outsourcing Wagner 5-1. Nicole McNeely had the first two of the quarter.
Siena used a quick three-goal spurt in the third – with scores by Bentley, Sources and Haylee Kuprianchik over a 1:52 span – to make it an 11-4 lead. It extended the lead to 14-5 at its highest point.

Siena, which had four free-position goals, was led by Soures’ four goals, as well as McNeely’s three goals and two assists. Jordan Bentley and Taryn Asselin each scored twice. Ally Mervine made 10 saves in the win.
Siena opens its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference part of the schedule Saturday when it hosts Iona at 1 p.m.
