
ITHACA — UAlbany lost to Cornell 20-15 in a non-league women’s lacrosse game on Tuesday night in the first of five consecutive away games.
Genevieve DeWinter and Sophie Ward led the Big Red with four goals apiece. Cornell jumped out to an 11-6 halftime lead, despite UAlbany jumping out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Allie Maloney and Ava Poupard. UAlbany stayed even with Cornell (6-3) in the second half.
Maloney led the Great Danes (3-6) with a career-high five goals. Katie Pascale scored four goals and recorded four assists.
UAlbany next plays at Vermont on Saturday.
