High Schools: Niskayuna cruises to tennis victory; Schenectady/Mohonasen wins, too

Niskayuna cruised to an 8-1 Suburban Council boys’ tennis victory over Albany. Zain Choudy, Jeremy Burstyn, Syed Saeed, Vivek Lanka and Masum Shah were singles winners for Niskayuna. The Silver Warriors swept the three doubles matches. Masami Suriswa won in singles for Albany.

Doubles victories by Tao Xie and Emi Torlasco, David Bievenue and Nyle Dennin and Connor Ojha and Nate Koplik helped Bethlehem top Shaker 6-3.

In Colonial Council play, Schenectady/Mohonasen cruised to a 7-0 victory over Cobleskill-Richmondville. Josiah Spivey, Noah Spivey, Hasan Serville, Mohamed Shahabuddeen and Vincenzo DiCastanzo were singles winners. Brian Schneider and Bilal Shohatee and Tariq Ali and Daniel Garcia were the doubles winners.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk beat Schoharie 6-1. Ravena singles winners were Gavin Trosclair, Andrew Ginder, Keenan Pagan, Will Robertson and Tyler Schwabrow. Nick Cifone and Teddy Debois were doubles winners for Ravena.

Albany Academy beat La Salle 7-0 behind singles victories from Dhev Jammula, Zain Magdon, Will Frasier, Nick DeMarco and Arjun Nair and doubles wins from Chrstian Jarocki and Jonathan Farbman and Gordon Amodeo and Jon Dailey.

Doubles victories by Sam Feinberg and Sean Fluman and Owen Burke and Xavier Deluca helped Scotia-Glenville edged Glens Falls 4-3 in Foothills Council action. Shane McKone and Ethan Jansen were singles winners for the Tartans. Singles winners for Glens Falls were Heath Borgos, Julien Oswald and Vincent Westfall.

Mekeel Christian Academy beat Waterford-Halfmoon 7-0 in non-league action. Noah Bennett, Franky McCleneghen, Oliwier Niedzielski, Caleb Jahnel and Javier Paloruelor won singles matches for Mekeel.Justin Davidson and Daniel Seredensky and Elijah Singh and Floyd Singleton won at doubles.
