
In comeback fashion, the Siena women’s lacrosse team earned a 13-12 MAAC win Wednesday on the road at Quinnipiac.
Mary Soures had six goals, and Nicole McNeely contributed three goals and three assists for the Saints.
Siena (4-2 MAAC, 8-7 overall) trailed Quinnipiac (1-4, 5-8) by as many as five goals and was down 9-5 at halftime, but the Saints outscored the home teams 8-3 after halftime. Soures scored five of her goals after halftime, and her final goal of the day tied the contest at 11. From there, McNeely scored twice in the final 2:20 off assists from Katy Wangsness to give Siena its first lead of the game.
Quinnipiac scored its final goal with three seconds to play.
Wangsness finished with two goals and two assists. For Quinnipiac, Desiree Kleberg had three goals.
In the victory, two Saints passed the program’s former single-season record for assists, which was set in 2019 with 31 and held by former Guilderland High School standout Kerry Gerety. Grace Dobrzynski, a freshman, produced three assists to push her season total to 34, while McNeely — a fifth-year — has 32 this season.
Sabrina Krasner earned the win in goal for Siena. After entering to start the second half, Krasner made eight saves and allowed three goals.
Siena next plays Saturday against Manhattan at Hickey Field in Loudonville.
