GLENVILLE A 76-year-old man was taken to Ellis Hospital after a tree fell on the windshield of his pickup truck Thursday afternoon.

The man, who was not identified by police, was driving westbound Thursday afternoon near 58 Glenridge Road when the tree fell.

The man suffered severe cuts on both arms and an officer dressed the wounds at the scene to stop them from bleeding, police said.

The man was then extricated by the Air National Guard with assistance from Alplaus Fire Department using a hydraulic rescue tool, and taken to Ellis Hospital.
