Saratoga Springs Police investigating shot fired in hotel parking lot early Friday

SARATOGA SPRINGS Police are investigating a shot fired in a local hotel parking lot early Friday, police said.

No gunshot victims were found, but a woman was found with superficial injuries due to broken glass, police said.

The incident happened just before 5 a.m. in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn, 232 Broadway, police said.

Police were called there by a hotel guest who reported hearing what he believed to be a gunshot in the rear of the hotel, police said.

The caller also reported a vehicle was involved in the incident, but it left the area just after the shot was heard, police said.

Officers checked the rear parking lot and found a spent casing and broken glass in the area the witness pointed out, police said. Officers later were able to locate the vehicle and a woman with the vehicle who was part of the incident, police said.

The woman had the superficial glass injuries, police said. She was not a guest at the hotel.

The incident remained under investigation later Friday. Anyone with information was asked to contact police at 518-584-1800 or 518-584-TIPS to remain anonymous.
