Troopers stopped Novak for a traffic violation on Broad Street in Schuylerville shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday, state police said.

The trooper could smell alcohol from Novak’s breath and saw signs of impairment. She was administered field sobriety tests and taken into custody. Her blood alcohol content tested later at 0.17 percent, state police said.

A child was in the vehicle and later turned over to a family member, state police said.

Novak was processed and released to appear in court later.
