
WASHINGTON COUNTY – A Schenectady woman attempted to smuggle drugs into the Washington County Jail, state police said.
Lamess A. Ahmed, 28, of Schenectady, was charged last weekend with one count each of first-degree promoting prison contraband and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies, along with two counts of second-degree promoting prison contraband, misdemeanors.

A preliminary investigation determined Ahmed possessed approximately 35 strips of Suboxone, 1.3 grams of marijuana and 3.4 grams of synthetic canabinoids, state police said.
Ahmed was processed and held at the jail for arraignment.
