Thompson stopped and the officer determined him to be intoxicated and took him into custody, police said.

Further investigation then revealed a loaded .380 handgun in Thompson’s glovebox. Thompson did not have a permit to possess the handgun, police said.

Thompson was arraigned and later released on bail. He is due back in court later.

The investigation remained active Tuesday. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 518-783-2754.
