The incident happened at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hotel Trilogy on Wolf Road. Officers responded there for a report of a man there who had fired a shotgun into his hotel room ceiling, police said.

Police quickly found and detained Rowan and soon determined he’d fired two runs from a 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun into the bathroom ceiling, damaging the ceiling and other fixtures, police said. There was one other occupant inside the room at the time,  police said.

Police determined the shotgun was defaced, without a serial number, and police are attempting to determine its origin, police said.

Rowan is the subject of an order of protection, which prohibits him from possessing the shotgun, police said.

Rowan was arraigned and released to probation supervision. He was then taken to a local hospital for evaluation, police said.

This is exactly the action recommended by Joe Biden some years ago for a person in distress. Fire 2 rounds of a double barrel 12 gauge shotgun into the air.  Have the authorities investigated what was causing the person to be in distress?
